Mentor is defined as “a wise and trusted counselor or teacher.”
Although the word does not appear in scripture, the concept is common.
Numerous people throughout scripture reveal mentoring relationships.
Three clear examples would be Samuel and Eli (I Samuel 1-4), Barnabas
and Paul (Acts 9-15), and of course, Jesus and his disciples (Luke 9).
The mentoring process just makes sense. Life is easier when you have
access to, and help from, someone who has gone this way before.
I Corinthians 11:1“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put into practice.”
