Know Your Neighbors

Most of you live in a “neighborhood.” You might live in a house, an apartment, or a dormitory.  You might have a few neighbors or hundreds of neighbors. God has placed you where you live in order for you to share the love and message of Jesus with people in your immediate neighborhood or community.

Scripture:

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)
"We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God."

Details:

If you are to be an ambassador for Christ, then your home should be an embassy for heaven.  The first place to start is to get to know your neighbors. Some suggested ways to do that are:

  • Have a meeting with your family. Work together to see how many neighbors' names you can remember.
  • Consider drawing a simple map of your neighborhood or printing a map from a website. Write down the names of the neighbors you know.
  • Begin looking for opportunities to introduce yourself to the neighbors that you do not know.
