Southcliff Mission House Procedures

Philosophy

The Missionary Residence is a ministry and outreach tool of Southcliff Baptist Church and is supported by the congregation. The purpose of this ministry is to provide a safe and comfortable residence for incoming missionary(ies), international coworkers, and their families during stateside Assignment, sabbatical leave, medical leave, vacation, educational requirements, etc.

As a ministry, it is governed by the following guidelines:

1.)Decisions pertaining to the residence fall under the authority of the Executive Pastor, Share Pastor, and/or Properties Committee.

2.)Prospective residents are considered by the following criteria:

     a.) Former members of Southcliff Baptist Church;
     b.) Family of Members of Southcliff Baptist Church;
     c.) Share Partners of Southcliff Baptist Church
     d.) Missionaries in good standing with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention;
     e.) Others (this designation includes all non-members, or other missionary sending agencies).


3.)Prospective residents must complete an application to be considered for stay in the mission house.

Applicants can find an application on Southcliff’s web site. Applicants can download a copy of the application. The completed application should be emailed to share@southcliff.com References may be contacted.

Former members of Southcliff, family members of Southcliff, and Southcliff “Share Partners” may reserve the mission house up to three years in advance. All other IMB missionaries may reserve the mission house up to 12 months in advance. Non IMB missionaries and other Christian workers may reserve the mission house up to 6 months in advance, if available.

We realize that some residents of the mission house will be traveling,involved in a variety of ministries, recovering from illnesses, etc. However, it is our expectation that Southcliff become your place of worship and ministry while staying in our mission house. Please connect with our Share Pastor about these expectations and opportunities.

If reservations must be cancelled, the renter must contact us at share@southcliff.com as soon as possible. We have to turn away many requests for the house, please let us know if your plans change.

There is no rent for the facilities. This is a ministry provided by the congregation of Southcliff Baptist church. However, tenants will be responsible for Utilities (electrical and gas).

Internet, wifi, phone, and digital television channels are provided at no charge.

Prospective residents agree to conform to the conditions stated in the Lease Agreement. Lease agreement must be completed prior to taking residence. There is a $200 deposit required at the time that the lease is signed.

The residence may not be reserved for a  less than one month, or for a period of time greater than one year.
