Several years ago, as Advent approached, Graham Jones was longing for a way to get at the heart of its story. Compared to the regular depictions of the nativity of Jesus, the Gospel of Luke contains a strange yet rich account of how a promised king makes an unexpected humble arrival. In the two millennia since, this king from Bethlehem has become a sourche of hope and object of worship for some two billion people all over the planet.
In Graham Jones's preparation and study for this project, he began put together something to be shared in the local church. Good News, Great Joy, became the title because of the declaration of the angel to the shepherds in Luke 2:10. Graham sought to highlight the announcement of God's salvation in the coming of Christ & the responses of those first hearers. How was this news good and why did it bring them great joy?
