High School Ministry (9-12th Grade)

Guiding high school students into a thriving relationship with Christ.

In a world that teaches students to believe that life revolves around them, we desire to teach our high school students that life truly revolves around Christ. Our goal for the high school students of Southcliff is to graduate biblically grounded believers that are able to walk with God through college and into adulthood.

Youth GROW groups are held on Sunday mornings at 9:20am. At youth GROW groups students will experience biblical, relevant teaching. This is a time for students to connect with other Christian students their age and receive biblical training from strong Christian adults in a small-group setting.

ECHO is offered on Sunday evenings from 6-8pm to High-school students and is geared to help Christian students ‘echo’ Christ in the world around them. ECHO is an innovative worship experience that varies throughout the semester in format to include games, teaching, group-dialogue, music, and more!

Each fall and spring semester, bodybuilding is available on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00pm for students who desire to go deeper into God’s word. Bodybuilding is an intensive Bible study and provides accountability for our highs school students who are willing to go the extra mile in seeking Jesus Christ.

There are four relationships that can define a thriving Christian life. It is these four relationships that we have built our High School ministry around.

A Growing Relationship with God
Far too many Christian students fall away from their faith after graduating high-school. We believe that this is because far too many students are dependent on their parents’ or peer’s faith. We want each student to have a lasting, thriving relationship with Christ. Therefore, we will teach students both why and how to have a devotional life and study God’s word on their own.
A Healthy Relationship with Family
The two institutions which God has given His people to carry out His plans are the family and the church. We believe that these institutions must work together. We want to aid families and students as they develop healthy relationships with each other by providing family-oriented events and encouraging parents to disciple their own children through family devotions and prayer times.
An Active Relationship with the Church
Because service within the body of Christ plays such an integral role in a student’s spiritual development, students will be given opportunities to SERVE in the church in a variety of ways.
These can range from assisting in taking up the offering during Sunday morning worship, helping with children’s ministries like VBS, working with the tech team, or serving in the praise band.
A Missional Relationship with the World
We will encourage students to engage the world around them with Christ’s love and message. Students must understand that they, as Christians, should not only SHARE by going on a mission trip once a year, but by relating to their peers through an authentic, evangelistic lifestyle that demonstrates the gospel.
