Cooperating to Feed the Hungry in Tarrant County
Cooperating to Feed the Hungry in Tarrant County — March 8th
by Stu Cocanougher, Share Pastor
On Monday, February 20, a group of 16 Southcliff volunteers took part in a SHARE WEEK challenge - sorting food at the Tarrant Area Food Bank. In just 3 hours of work, this group helped to process over 6,000 pounds of food product. This translates to over 5,000 meals that will be provided to needy families in the Tarrant County Area.
Linda Smith, the Director of Volunteer Services for the Tarrant Area Food Bank wrote:
Southcliff, I want you to know how much we appreciate your help and the help of all the members of the Southcliff Baptist team that volunteered at Tarrant Area Food Bank. As I try to tell all of our volunteers, “we would not be able to do what we do without the help of so many wonderful volunteers!” We hope that this was a positive experience for your entire group and that you will consider coming back to visit us again in the future. Hunger is not a challenge that is going to go away anytime soon, and as long as there are food donations + volunteers, we’ll continue to feed those in need.
